Hemingway Letters Coming Soon!

The Hemingway letters are coming! Published by Cambridge University Press, this is the 1st of 12+ volumes of personal letters by Hemingway. What is fascinating is that around 85% of these letters have never been seen before.

It's release date is 31 October 2011 (Halloween) with the second volume to be published in 2012.

The first book will cover ALL surviving Hemingway letters that were written between 1907-1922:

"This volume will encompass his youth, World War I, and his arrival in Paris."


So it looks like we'll have to wait until the second volume to start reading letters he wrote during his publication years, which started in 1923

I believe this will definitely breath some life into Hemingway studies; not that the field needs any short of revival.

I've been following The Hemingway Society  for some time now, and they are the ones that are spearheading this publication. They have collected over 6,000 letters and have been working on this project for some time. I'm glad it's finally going to be available!
