The letters show a really interesting look into the life of Hemingway during these years. I wrote about it a few post back, and who's in charge of bringing this possibly 12 volume book collection to us, Hemingway letters coming soon.
It's a beautiful book. Hardcover, too. I like it a lot. Some of the letters you may have read, most you haven't (unless you saw them in the JFK library during research).
Over the coming weeks, I'll be posting little things i find/like about the entries. It's rich for exploring and analyzing. The next volume, due out early 2013, will change the way we look at this first book, The Sun Also Rises--I'm sure if it.
As I said before, it's not to get something from the horses mouth so to say. He tells us his thoughts, his ideas, what's going on in his mind/life at the time.
If you're a Hemingway fan, you need to get this book asap. If you're an American Lit fan, you need this book. Period.
